AI and tech help for Fort Mill small businesses, starting small
I help Main Street businesses put AI and automation to work — so the shops that hold communities together can last.
I'm Matt Mahood. I run cb+coop and work with owner-run businesses in Fort Mill, Tega Cay, Rock Hill and the rest of York County, and across the line into Charlotte. If you're the owner, the bookkeeper and the IT department, this page is for you.
If you're the one doing everything
In a small shop the tech problems don't come with a project plan. They show up as:
- the same five customer questions, answered by hand every day
- appointments and quotes that live in your texts
- a website you've been meaning to fix for two years
- a stack of apps, each solving a third of the problem
You don't need a transformation. You need the next thing off your plate, set up so it keeps working when you're busy.
Three ways to start, smallest first
1. Get a website up, free.
Free Website Forever is a product I run: a free one-page site for your business, hosted at yourname.freewebsiteforever.com. Request it through the website form; there's no dashboard to learn. A custom domain is optional ($79 setup, about $29 a year to renew).
2. Let the inbox answer the easy ones.
Inbox Lite is a bot for one channel, email or chat, built for your business after a discovery call. It answers from your FAQ, first-touches within one business hour, and sends money, legal and complaint messages to you.
3. Have me on site one day a week.
On-site weekly puts me in your shop one day a week. I lead your automation, AI, web and ops projects hands-on, and we hold quarterly half-day planning workshops. $3,000/month, 3-month minimum, then month to month.
Built in South Carolina
Palmetto Markers puts every official South Carolina historical marker on one map. Tap a pin for the inscription, a spoken lesson and a short film made from a real photograph, or scan a roadside plaque to open its lesson on your phone. It's the same approach I bring to a business: take something people already use, make it easier to reach and keep it running.
How I work
- Map the real process, including the workaround everyone uses.
- Build the smallest working version, used by your team, not a demo.
- Connect it to what you already run: your inbox, calendar, spreadsheets.
- Hand it over documented, so it works without me in the room.
FAQ
- Do you come to Fort Mill?
- Yes. cb+coop is a service-area business covering Fort Mill, SC, Charlotte, NC, and the surrounding area. I don't have a storefront; I come to you or we talk on a call.
- I'm not technical. Will I be able to keep it running?
- That's the point of the handover step. You get it documented and walked through, and I build it on tools you already use where I can.
- Can I try something before hiring you?
- Yes. The Lab has free tools that turn a few sentences about your business into a document, like an automation playbook or an AI implementation map. And the website through Free Website Forever is free.
- What does it cost?
- On-site weekly is $3,000/month with a 3-month minimum. Free Website Forever is free, with an optional domain. Inbox Lite's pricing is on its page. Other projects are scoped after a conversation.
- Do you work with businesses in Rock Hill or Indian Land too?
- Yes, the whole surrounding area.
What's the one thing you'd take off your plate first?
Tell me about it in a few sentences. I'll reply, usually within one business day, with whether it's worth automating and the smallest way to start.
